The #ScreenHerSaveHer movement centres around the importance of early detection and awareness on the importance of breast cancer screenings by means of breast self-examination, mammography and breast ultrasound. The goal is to make mammography and breast ultrasound accessible to women in South Africa.
The emphasis is on the importance of early detection through regular screening. Unfortunately, cancer does not read or care about calendars, so we fight breast cancer every day of every month. Early detection of breast cancer provides more treatments options, better quality of life, and less-invasive surgical procedures. We believe that if we all take hands and work together in fighting this disease, we can truly make a direct impact in South Africa and save lives.
